Midseason Musings

All Around the Net, by Michael Peuschel

As we near the half-way point of the NBA season, it’s an interesting time to look back and see how the major changes of the off-season have turned out so far.

Sports Illlustrated’s Ian Thompson looks back and ahead, while rating how the
five biggest changes have worked out.

Point guard Baron Davis' first season with the
Clippers hasn't gone well. AP.

Thompson makes a lot of good points. But, I have to take issue with this one point: In most of these cases there was no way the teams could have known that the players involved in the major moves would suffer major injuries.

In the same article Thompson has some good stuff on the emergence of Nets Point Guard
Devin Harris, from almost an after-thought in Dallas to a star and scorer in New Jersey. Although he and Vince Carter were both benched in the second half of their 105-85 loss to the Celtics Saturday night.

Maybe that’s what Mark Cuban was complaining about earlier this week.
